The Washington Post earned two Pulitzer Prizes this year with contributions from designers on Social Security wait times and He’s dying. She’s pregnant.
The Post was also recognized with Best in Show for coverage of the Middle East conflict along with two other top honors from the Society for News Design. From the announcement: “The work (The Post) produced in the past few years will be held up as the gold standard for years to come, a legacy that will not be easily forgotten.”

15-plus years experience in management at The Washington Post, first as deputy director and most recently department head, determining strategy and developing talent.
Joined The Post during a significant period of modernization and growth. Designers learned to code premium immersive presentations and shaped the defining journalism of the era, contributing to 14 Pulitzer winners and 17 finalists over the past decade (including staff Pulitzers for National Reporting on American Icon in 2024 and Public Service for January 6 coverage in 2022).

Organized and ran Society for News Design digital competition from 2019-2024, judged in 2005 and 2016, and served as team captain for juding teams in 2025 and 2026. Five-time SND workshop speaker (2002, 2005, 2015, 2025, 2026).
Recognized by SND with multiple silver medals and portfolio awards, including World's Best Digital (2020, 2025), Best in Show (2020, 2024, 2025) and World's Best Newspaper Finalist (2013-15, 2020, 2022).
Also awarded a Gold Medal for Terror on Repeat by the Society of Publication Designers in 2024 and mentored as part of SPD's Coffee + Convo program in 2025.
